Royal Talens 032 Rectified Turpentine Talens 032 is a high-quality, rectified (distilled) French turpentine. It is a traditional and essential solvent for oil painting, produced by distilling carefully selected pine resin. This product is colourless and evaporates without leaving any residue on the paint film. Available sizes: 75 ml, 250 ml, and 1000 ml. Uses: Thinning oil colours: Makes the paint more fluid and "lean" (reduces oil content), which is crucial for the underpainting layers.Cleaning brushes and tools: A powerful solvent that effectively removes oil paint and resins from art supplies.Making mediums and varnishes: Suitable for dissolving binders (such as Dammar resin) when creating your own varnishes and painting mediums.Varnish removal: Can be used to carefully remove old, soluble layers of varnish during restoration. General Information about Turpentine: Turpentine is one of the oldest and most traditional auxiliaries in oil painting. Unlike white spirit (mineral spirits), genuine turpentine is a natural product with slightly stronger solvency power. It is specifically used in the "Fat over Lean" technique: the first layers of paint are thinned with turpentine (lean) to ensure they dry faster and adhere better to the ground. Subsequent layers use more painting medium or oil (fat). Note: This product is highly flammable and has a strong, characteristic odour.
